STEMNET : Prepare for the Science Fair - an animated production by Kevin Temmer

Prepare for the Science Fair - an animated production by Kevin Temmer

Wednesday 22 February, 2012

US student Kevin Temmer has combined his love of science and animation to create a 15 minute video to help students prepare their projects to take part in a Science Fair.

By following the journey of main characters Jack and Jessica, students learn how to formulate their initial question, find their results and summarise it for their conclusions.

Kevin graduated from the International Baccalaureate program at Land O'Lakes High School in Florida where students are required to take part in Creativity Action Service, a community outreach programme that provides a weekly alternative to their academic studies.

Using his initiative, Kevin wanted to create a tool his Science teacher could use in the classroom to engage students, while still providing helpful tips on how to approach completing their projects.

'Prepare for the Science Fair' is the result and now features on a number of US websites including NASA, the US National Science Foundation and the National Geographic Kids.
