By volunteering to become a STEM Ambassador, your employees are given a brilliant opportunity to motivate young learners whilst also developing themselves professionally through using communication, presentation, and planning skills. It also encourages employees to think about their career in relation to the wider community around them.


Ambassadors are volunteers who challenge the stereotypes most young learners have regarding STEM subjects, motivate them to learn more, and expand students’ knowledge on the types of STEM careers available to them.  Ambassadors can become involved in various projects such as delivering career talks, acting as a mentor to students, or assisting with a science and engineering club. 


The STEM Ambassadors programme can help businesses develop projects with schools by:
 

  • Arranging a CRB check for Ambassadors
     
  • Inducting Ambassadors about how to approach the classroom
     
  • Finding relevant projects for Ambassadors to become involved with
     
  • Help you build contacts and liaise with schools


You can follow three STEM Ambassadors helping students at Keswick School, Cumbria, to design, construct and successfully launch a rocket carrying one raw medium size hen's egg back to earth in tact.
