Putting the Business into STEM Education

A successful series of free regional events brought teachers and businesses together to explore how to inspire students with the excitement and potential of STEM subjects.

The events covered:

Real-world experience: How to bring practical experience and contemporary applications of STEM into school to engage students with the relevance of studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Employability skills: How to create STEM challenges to help secondary school students develop vital skills for future employment  including communications, project management, team-working and problem-solving.

Networking: How to build connections across the local community engaging businesses, teachers, students and parents to raise the profile of STEM industries and careers.

The events had fantastic feedback from those involved.  Cheryl Phillips tweeted, "Impressed with S. Peter's Collegiate School tonight who showcased breadth of business engaged in engaged in contextualising learning."
