STEMNET : STEMNET Contract Holders

STEMNET contract holders

There are 45 sub-regional contract holders in the UK who help STEMNET deliver its programmes to schools and organisations in their local area, through the STEM Ambassador Programme and the Schools STEM Advisory Network.

Schools STEM Advisory Network

STEMNET delivers a STEM Advisory Service to all secondary schools in the UK.

The service aims to improve students’ ability in STEM subjects, and to increase the number of students moving into further STEM education, training and development.

To achieve these outcomes, STEMNET offers free, impartial and tailored advice to schools on opportunities to enrich and enhance the STEM curriculum. Local contacts regularly meet with secondary school staff to assess their requirements and provide information accordingly.

Equipped with this knowledge, teachers are then able to coordinate activities that are of most benefit to their students, while utilising STEMNET’s strong links with businesses and partner organisations.

STEMNET proactively supports every secondary school in the UK, and is able to assist primary schools with their enquiries.

STEM Ambassadors Programme

Contract holders coordinate the STEM Ambassadors programme on a local level, ensuring all schools and colleges have knowledge of, and access to, STEM Ambassadors in their area. They:

- identify professionals with STEM skills to become STEM Ambassadors

- link STEM Ambassadors with local schools and colleges to act as role models, and help inspire and engage young people about the value of STEM in their daily lives

help local STEM employers engage with schools and colleges in their communities
