Sam is also involved in the STEMNET working groups for Curriculum and the Science and Engineering Ambassadors expansion.
A brief hsitory:
Sam started her career living and working in Washington DC for three years. Whilst living in the States she held a variety of posts at Georgetown University, the National Institutes of Health and Bethesda Naval Medical Research Labs. She also belonged to a voluntary group which made breakfasts for 400 homeless people at a local shelter and along the way came to like the Americans. Following her return to the UK Sam obtained a PhD in Biochemistry sponsored by SmithKline Beecham where she worked on a diabetic drug which was in clinical trial and subsequently became the fastest selling drug in the history of the company. After moving to the North East Sam worked in business development at the International Centre for Life.
