From sensational seaside science and enlightening exhibitions, to innovative after-school clubs, STEMNET (The Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics Network Ltd) is inspiring the next generation. Working with half a million young people and thousands of schools, colleges and employers, the organisation brings learning to life for young people of all backgrounds and abilities.
Over 21,000 volunteer STEM Ambassadors help teachers and schools illuminate to young people the importance and impact of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) on their lives. STEM Ambassadors help enthuse and encourage young people to pursue STEM studies and careers, whilst the nationwide network of STEM Clubs provide further opportunities for inspiration and learning – unlocking potential and widening horizons.
STEMNET is now seeking an outstanding Chief Executive to lead the organisation into the next exciting phase of its development. With the seniority and standing to influence at the highest levels in industry, government, higher education and schools, this individual will demonstrate clearly STEMNET’s impacts, positioning it as the lead organisation in ensuring all young people realise the value of STEM.
The successful candidate will be tenacious, persuasive and exceptionally driven, combining a deep personal commitment to the mission and values of STEMNET, with a proven track record of successful strategic leadership. Strong management skills are vital, as are the first-class interpersonal and relationship building skills to work effectively in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
