Coordinated by the Tech Partnership Company, Tech Week is a UK wide event that will see organisations opening their doors to schools, colleges and universities – reaching out to thousands of young people in order to help inspire a new generation achieve their potential in the digital world.

Tech Week is about shining a spotlight on some of the great employer outreach activities that are already taking place across the country, giving young people the chance to see the range of exciting tech careers open to them across all industry as well as creating new and inspiring ways for them to learn about technology.

Daresbury Laboratory Open Week

Daresbury Laboratory is opening its doors to the public to explore some of the world’s most incredible science experiments. Over a period of a day, visitors can expect to see investigations in bio-medicine, engineering, fundamental physics, chemistry, computational science and materials to name just a few and meet scientists who collaborate with researchers all over the world, including those at CERN – the home of the Large Hadron Collider.

Corporate organisations will be able to visit on the 5th, schools can arrange visits on the 6th and 7th and the general public can visit on the 9th of July. Register at www.stfc.ac.uk/public-engagement/see-the-science/daresbury-open-week

ADS Futures Day

Futures Day gives young people aged 11-21 the chance to learn about the career opportunities available in the Aerospace and Defence sectors. Groups from schools, universities and youth associations are welcome to experience the interactive, informative and engaging programme that aims to show them first-hand, the variety, innovation and expertise that makes a career in these sectors so rewarding.
